Unions and different organizations are formal groups that are created with a certain purpose. Sometimes multiple purposes unite people into groups. Sometimes people become friends, whereas most organizations are built on the principles of a common goal. All members of organization can participate in activities of the group, whereas other groups do not require anything but the regularly paid membership fee. When people want to achieve something, they can do it either as individuals, or as formal groups. Student unions are aimed at reaching certain goals. Different principles of work and different goals prevent from creating a universal scale of assessment for all unions, formal groups, and organizations.
Student UnionsStudents can be considered representatives of a subculture that has certain peculiar features, customs and traditions, organizations, and other traits that define a subculture. Student unions have certain goals as well as all other formal groups. As a rule, political influence is inescapable in student unions. Members of these organizations are numerous and have more liberal views than older fellows. When political issues become influential for such a great number of people that can do everything according to their life principles, this can result in dangerous consequences. Some student unions are aimed at establishing more rights for international students, while others do not do anything good but dwell on irrelevant issues.
Major PurposeWhen people come together, they want to achieve something. For instance, elections can be considered an event that unites many people with a single purpose - to elect a president. Regardless of the results, people become united for one day. Student unions are aimed at reaching goals that are likely to facilitate their life. International students ask for better treatment, native students demand wider rights.
Every formal group of people has a certain purpose and objectives. The results of being united are not always satisfactory, whereas the organization can exist until the goal is reached.
