iPhone 4 Incipio Delta Case @DayDeal_com Review

The Incipio Delta for the Apple iPhone 4 was and is an accessory that was overshadowed during release. Those familiar with the Incipio Brand compared the Detla to the Silicrylic, and those who weren't familiar with Incipio at all never probably even heard of the Delta due to its limited iPhone 4 only release. In any case, the Delta is a easy to use thick back cover for the phone that emphasizes protection on the silicone skin layer, while the exoskeleton or frame on the outside slightly reenforces the edges. The design isn't anything remarkable and it really is just like most other Incipio products released for the iPhone 4 and others, but it's a good case and hopefully people aren't too shy about it if they happen to be interested in it. Mint is a hard color to come by - so just a heads up.

The dermaSHOT Silicone Case for the Storm 9520/9550 (Storm 2) by Incipio is a skin-style protective case made of durable, high-density materials. I'm not a big fan of silicone-only cases because of the somewhat limited drop protection they typically offer. The dermaSHOT was not designed for heavy-duty protection. This case was meant for users who want comfort and simplicity while keeping the Storm 2 protected from minor abuse.

My first impressions of the case when removing it from the original packaging were that of any other silicone-style case: not so impressive. However, after I handled the case for a few minutes, I began to realize just how great it felt in my hands with the anti-static coating as well as the obvious durability of the material. I also love the included stand that holds the Storm 2 in a horizontal, upright position for reading and such.

Most silicone cases are nothing more than beefed up protective skins that don't do much more than improve grip and prevent scratches. If you're looking for serious protection from heavy abuse, the dermaSHOT is not for you. It is, however, quite capable of keeping your Storm 2 cushioned from minor drops and safe from scratches. The case is thin, flexible, and very light. As stated before, the coating on the exterior of the dermaSHOT provides a great feel and slips in and out of pockets with ease.

Installation is simply a matter of slipping the dermaSHOT over your Storm 2. I think Incipio could have made the dermaSHOT a bit more "elastic" to provide a tighter fit, but it does stay put. I don't like that the sides of the dermaSHOT are somewhat loose, allowing the sides to move around while handling the device. All port openings lined up perfectly, including the camera features. The buttons on the Storm 2 are pressed through the case and remain protected.

The touchscreen is fully-functional and otherwise unobstructed. I did notice (again) that the somewhat flimsy sides of the case were easily pushed out when sliding my thumb across the touchscreen. Not a big deal, but somewhat annoying.

As far a drop protection goes, the dermaSHOT could keep the Storm 2 safe at minimal heights. The dermaSHOT also includes screen protection in the form of a self-adhesive film. The screen protector fit well and installed easily. Incipio includes a micro-fiber cleaning cloth as well to ensure a clean installation of the screen film.

The durability of the dermaSHOT is quite impressive. I jerked and tugged on the material to see if it would rip but it held strong. Even though the included "video" stand is a separate piece that you have to lug around with you, it is extremely useful. It is ideal for the nightstand if you use your Storm 2 as an alarm clock. Keep in mind that the stand only holds the Storm 2 in a horizontal position.

In summary, the dermaSHOT touts a very innovative design considering it is a simple, silicone case style. The durability and comfortable finish make this case stand out from other silicone cases and the handy stand is a convenient addition. The dermaSHOT is compatible with the BlackBerry Storm 9520 and 9550 models and comes in several color to suit your style including Red, Blue, Purple, Magenta, and Black.
