should i get my cello case dry cleaned? also an estimate on sound post replacement?
Best answer:
Use a lint brush to wipe down the entire case inside and out. Spray it with a disinfectant. Do not soak it.
Place it in the warm sun for 15 minutes.
If the sound post is still there but has fallen. $ 20 if it is missing $ 30 It will have to be cut and fitted which takes longer, and more experience.
Dry Eyes Explained and Understood

Article by Hillary Glaser

Dry eyes is a condition that is becoming increasingly more well-known and suffered from around the world. Understanding what it is and knowing what the treatment involves will have you on the road to comfortable eyesight in no time.Dry eyes are that painful, irritating condition that can cause pain, sensitivity to light, blurred vision, itching, stinging, redness, episodes of excess tears followed by or following very dry eye periods, the inability to cry when stressed out or the feeling that something is in your eye. According to studies, around 12 million Americans suffer from this condition; meaning that their eyes simply do not produce enough tears to keep the surface of the eyes wet. Those over the age of 50 are particularly susceptible to the condition. However, with today's excess use of computers and smart phones, as well as our watching of television, this condition has begun to also severely hit the younger generation. To explain, the eye needs a certain flow of tears in order to ensure the sufficient moisture of your eyes. This prevents pain and discomfort. Tears are made up of a number of elements such as oil, mucus, special proteins and more, which are then secreted by the eye's tear system. Should anything not work perfectly with this tear system - whether directly related to the eye or another issue which impacts it - you may find yourself suffering from dry eye.The dry eye "condition" can be either temporary or chronic and usually this cannot be gauged in advance, with the sufferer needing to simply do what they can to alleviate the symptoms so as to see comfortably. What many don't know is that dry eyes can come in many forms including dry eye syndrome, keratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS), dysfunctional tear syndrome, lacrimal keratoconjunctivitis, evaporative tear deficiency, aqueous tear deficiency, and LASIK-induced neurotrophic epitheliopathy (LNE).Two of these, evaporative tear deficiency, aqueous tear deficiency need to be explained in further detail: Aqueous tear-deficient dry eye is a disorder whereby certain of the glands within your eye do not produce enough of substance that creates tears. Evaporative dry eye is said to result from inflamed glands which mess with the way that the eye produces tears. In short, this condition generally stems from a lack of the eyes ability to create tears. For one, those who spend time in air conditioned areas will often suffer from dry eyes whereas certain medications, medical diseases and eye problems can have the same affect. People have also been known to suffer from dry eyes when they wear contact lenses for too many hours a day, sleep with their contact lenses, have had eye surgery, stare at computer, television, or other such screens for an extended period per day. Women with early onset menopause are also said to suffer from dry eyes. Other reasons that would result in people suffering from an element of this condition are: skin disease around the eye, pregnancy, allergies, not blinking enough, immune system disorders, thyroid disease and more.Let's be clear. Dry eyes cannot be cured but they can be treated. In many cases, the treatment will be ongoing and the condition may return many times. If the reason for your dry eyes stems from a more serious medical problem, then that problem needs to be dealt with. In most cases, blinking and artificial tears are the best solutions to this annoying and painful condition. Know that with regards to the artificial tears, you may need to try out a few different brands before you find one that works for you. In more serious cases, a procedure known as punctal occlusion is used. This procedure can be either temporary or permanent, depending on the case and involves, closing the ducts that drain tears out of the eye. Alternatively, your eye care specialist may prescribe prescription eye medication. A last resort is usually surgery which permanently closes the ducts that drain tears. In all cases, medical treatment should be thoroughly discussed with your eye care professional. When all is said and done, you can help to keep your eyes healthier and happier. Keep away from areas where dust and debris can enter your eyes, or protect your eyes with specific eyeglasses that will do the job. In addition, always wear sunglasses when you are in the sun and try to stay in areas where the air is moist, this includes not overusing the air conditioner. You should also always adhere to a strict eye care routine, and most importantly, lots of rest. This last point means that you should limit the number of hours in which you wear your contact lenses and opt to wear your prescription eyeglasses for at least one full day a week. Oh yes, and if you spend hours in front of the television or computer, do your eyes a favor and use the opportunity to show off your funky glasses frames instead of straining with your contacts lenses. Remember, dry eyes are uncomfortable and often painful - you do yourself a favor when you take care of your eyes and help to either prevent or treat this condition!
